This piece is titled Cyber Gossip. Its dimensions are 13 inches in height, 18 inches in width, and 1 inch in depth. The mediums used in this piece are colored pencils, paper, and resin jelly. To achieve an acrylic painting effect, I layered and blended colored pencils. Additionally, I carefully placed resin jelly rhinestones to create a shimmering effect like a screen, which makes the piece pop against the background.

The concept behind my artwork is the anonymity of the internet, with users hiding behind screens to sometimes engage in abusive behavior, therefore infringing on internet privacy. This piece connects with the theme Fractured Narratives, as it reflects both the nostalgia for pre-internet days where communication was more direct and face-to-face with people being careful with what they say, as well as the anxiety of what the internet holds for the future. The fear of what users will do when protected by this anonymity may prevent future generations from fully expressing themselves.
