About the Artist
Richard Suyosa
My journey in formal art started with PI Art Center and it was in this institution that I was introduced to art theories which I knew none before. In 2024, my watercolor pieces— all 47 of them— were featured at PI Art Center solo show. Positive feedback boosted my confidence and made me pursue art.
A good friend of mine who is a full time artist from the Philippines was my #1 critic, and he patiently guided me as I slowly embraced art. More importantly, I get my inspiration and motivation to make art from my daughter, who also creates wonderful pieces of art.
Most of my works are watercolor paintings but just recently I was introduced to soft pastel.
My artistic philosophy with this particular work connects with the inevitable and hard truth of death to every one, leaving behind the remnant of life that was lived however long or short, significant or insignificant.
