About the Artist

Shiyu Ma

I’m a high school student in Shanghai fascinated by how human movement shapes architecture. Through this project, I explored how paths, light, and daily rhythms define space—translating behavioral patterns into iterative sketches, diagrams, and handcrafted models. From rigid block layouts to fluid folded forms, I tested how circulation creates unique spatial experiences. For me, architecture is about connecting people to place. I love balancing analysis with hands-on making, and I’m eager to keep exploring how buildings respond to life, movement, and feeling as I pursue architectural studies.
