About the Artist

Henry Yinghao Liu

As a Chinese-Canadian student in Toronto, I blend my love for hands-on craft and art with architectural thinking. In this necklace project, I explored ancient Egyptian symbolism and ceremonial forms, translating them into a layered, radial design using recycled materials, wire, and found objects. It shows my curiosity about cultural heritage, materiality, and the way form carries meaning—qualities I bring to my architectural practice. I thrive in the process of making: sketching, iterating, and building with my hands to turn ideas into tangible, tactile works. I’m eager to bring this creative curiosity and making-driven approach to architectural studies.
