About the Artist

Hongtao Sun

Hongtao Sun is an internationally renowned contemporary artist based in the United States and a prominent advocate of new ink painting and marker art. He currently serves as the Executive Vice Chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Literature and Art Promotion Association and Vice President of the Shaanxi Contemporary Painting Academy. Sun holds the title of National Second-Class Artist in China. He is a member of the China Artists Association, the China Gongbi Painting Society, and the China Photographers Association. Additionally, he serves as a director of the Shaanxi Chinese Painting Society, a committee member of the Shaanxi Youth Artists Association, and an art advisor to the Shaanxi Human Geography Photographers Association.

Sun Hongtao's artistic practice focuses on the exploration and innovative expression of new ink painting and marker art. His works deeply reflect on human emotions, natural forms, and the modern social environment. As an external Master of Fine Arts instructor, Sun has taught at prestigious institutions including the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Shaanxi Normal University School of Fine Arts, Xi'an Polytechnic University, and Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology.
